Delivery & Returns

Delivery in the UK

We aim to despatch orders within 2 working days. Standard delivery is usually by courier in order to keep shipping cost to a minimum for the customer. In order to process the delivery of items, we require a name, address (with full postcode), telephone number and optional email address if possible. Without these details, we are unable to process orders as they are a requirement by the courier. Small items such as leather handles may also be shipped by Royal Mail 1st class for convenience.

Overseas deliveries will only be made to the account holders address as noted in  their account statement.

A signature will be required on delivery of your order. Where a signature is not provided, then the item may be held at your nearest parcel or courier depot for one week and a card requesting collection/ re-delivery options will be left. Items returned to us due to non-collection will be re-delivered at the expense of the customer.

International orders

Orders for EU destinations usually arrive within 5-10 days. For countries outside the EU, orders can take upto 5-20 days. If your delivery takes more than 5 days over that stated for your country, please contact us in order for us to trace your item.

Orders placed from outside the EU may be subject to import taxes/ duty on arrival. The price quoted for shipping on our site does not include those charges. Trunksandcases.com have no control over import tax/duties and are not liable to pay any of these charges.

Unfortunately, we are unable to deliver to the following countries or regions: Bulgaria, Bosnia, Hungary, Belarus, montenegro, Moldova, Romania, Slovakia, Serbia, Russia, South America and Africa. There may be other area other than in this list so please contact us before placing an order to avoid disappointment.

PLEASE NOTE: We are unable to ship items over 2Kg, ie chests, trunks, cases etc to addresses outside of the UK.

Trunks, chests, portmanteaus and other large items

For large or heavy items, pallet delivery will be the normal method of shipping and items will be despatched within 3 working days. Delivery will usually take 2-3 days from collection. Couriers will require a signature upon delivery and where a signature is not provided, the item will be held for one week at the nearest courier depot and a card left outlining collection or re-delivery options. Items returned to us due to non-collection will be re-delivered at the expense of the customer.

There may be additional charges applied by couriers for delivery to certain locations such as the scottish Highlands and Islands, Channel Islands etc, so please contact us and we will provide a shipping quotation.

Goods for retun or exchange

If you are not satisfied with your order and wish to return it, please contact us within 7 days of recipt of the item and we will send you a returns form. Provided the items are returned in their original condition and sent back in suitable packaging, we will issue a full refund for the item or exchange it, excluding the delivery charge. Returns are usually processed in 3-5 days.

Along with the reurns form, please enclose your original invoice. On the returns form, explain why you are returning or exchanging the item in order for us to process the return swiftly. We will not be able to provide a full refund for goods that appear to be damaged (including in transit) or appear to have been used. Therefore, we recommend that you package the item adequately, retain proof of postage and use a tracked or recorded service, as we cannot also be held liable for items that are lost or damaged in transit by delivery service.

Items being returned from countries outside the EU must clearly state on the packaging and customs declaration 'Commercial goods returned for exchange'. If you fail to state this, you may be liable for import/ customs duty into the UK.

Damaged and faulty goods

At trunksandcases.com, we pride ourselves on the quality and craftmanship of besoke reproduction trunk and case accessories such as straps and handles and all items are checked before despatch, however, should you find fault with one of our items, we will aim to rectify it as soon as we possibly can.

If you believe our item is faulty, please contact us within 7 days of recieving the item and we will send you a returns form. The returns form should be completed and sent along with your original invoice and the item (in suitable packaging) to the address on the returns form.

We cannot be held liable for any items that we do not recieve or are lost/ damaged in transit when they are returned.

If a repair is not possible, then we will replace the item. If a replacement is not available, we will offer you a refund in full (including the original delivery charge).

Items being returned from outside the EU, must clearly state on the packaging and customs declaration 'Commercial goods returned for exchange'. If you fail to state this, you may be liable for imort/customs duty into the UK.
